PATTA Member Code of Conduct (Ethics & Community Standards)

1. Our Purpose

PATTA exists to raise standards in Portable Appliance Testing through professionalism, shared best practice, and a supportive member community.

Membership of PATTA represents a commitment to quality, integrity, and ethical business conduct.

2. Professional Standards

PATTA members are expected to:

  • Work within their competence and training
  • Follow recognised industry guidance, including the IET Code of Practice
  • Operate to PATTA’s own Working Standards as a minimum professional benchmark
  • Carry out work responsibly, safely, and professionally
  • Represent the PAT testing industry in a positive manner

3. Ethical Business Conduct

Members should:

  • Act honestly and fairly with clients, suppliers, and other members

  • Avoid misleading claims or misrepresentation

  • Respect the reputation of PATTA and the wider industry

4. Respectful Member Community

PATTA is a professional association built on mutual support.

Members must:

  • Treat other members with respect

  • Avoid harassment, bullying, or disruptive behaviour

  • Engage constructively in discussions, both online and in person

5. Membership Benefits & Discount Use

PATTA provides access to exclusive member benefits, including supplier discounts.

Members must:

  • Use discount codes only while membership is active

  • Never share member-only codes or benefits with non-members

  • Respect supplier partnerships provided in good faith

Misuse of benefits may result in removal of access or termination of membership.

6. Use of PATTA Branding

Members may display PATTA membership badges and branding only while membership is current.

Branding must not be used:

  • After cancellation or termination

  • By non-members

  • In a misleading way

7. Breaches of Conduct

PATTA reserves the right to investigate serious breaches of this Code.

Where necessary, PATTA may:

  • Issue warnings

  • Suspend access to benefits

  • Terminate membership in line with the Terms & Conditions

Members will be treated fairly and given the opportunity to respond.

8. Commitment to Raising Standards

PATTA membership is about more than discounts — it is about supporting each other, improving standards, and strengthening the PAT testing profession.
