A PAT tester has to carry a whole range of adaptors in his kit, to ensure he can test all the different appliances.

We need to carry blue adaptors for 230v industrial equipment, yellow adaptors for 110v equipment often found on building sites and red adaptors for 3-phase equipment.

There’s then additional adaptors such as T-shaped earth pin plugs, theatre lighting, foreign plugs and so on.

All in all a PAT tester needs a lot of adaptors, so you’ll need a suitable bag (or van) to keep them all in.

There is an option of using an adaptor, with 3 crocodile clips, which allows for ease of testing on general jobs but we recommend you have the full arsenal of adaptors for proper testing, especially for when it comes to leads.
